Interview | AlexFM | same artists for 10, 20, 30 Years Ain’t Growth
The Morgeez Rap Battle Royale 2.0 kicked off in high gear over the weekend and Stovaz, once again, raised his voice to challenge music industry players to be more focused on talent development. The call was made during an exclusive interview at AlexFM on Friday, on the station’s syndicated Hip hop show, TheMixTapeTime.
The music industry cannot grow, if we keep having the same group of artists for 10, 20, 30 years.Stovaz
Stovaz who has been very vocal about talent development all-around has been setting an example on talent development with various programs created under his belt running under the Morgeez Mentorship program and of which, he had written many articles ranging from teaching, the business side of music to the artistic side in general.
His latest outcry for support for talent development programs came when poked by the host of AlexFM’s #themixtapetime Show, @thecoolestmc on the heels of Morgeez Rap Battle Royale 2.0. His rap contest focused on helping rappers to compete while developing their skill sets in the process.
Stovaz has clarified the point that the aim of the Morgeez Rap Battle Royale series is to assist young rappers. The platform is for young rappers to seize the moments and opportunities to test themselves artistically, find out their loopholes, and improve on their craft as Stovaz is readily on hand to mentor and teach them important aspects of the rap music industry that can help them to become a full or all-round artist.
Do you think Stovaz has a valid point calling out music industry players including music OGz to focus on talent development? Leave your comments below.
