Meek Mill took his dream chasing lifestyle to partner with Jay Z’s Roc Nation. The Partnership sees Meek Mill bringing his Dream Chaser record label into working relationship with Roc Nation. The two signed papers Tuesday in New York City in front of a small media gathering at Roc Nation’s midtown headquarters.
The merger sees Dream Chaser Record Label operating under the wing of Roc Nation. This will enable Meek Mill’s own artists enjoy the full powerhouse talent management services of Roc Nation. Meek created the Dream Chasers imprint in 2012, though its handful of releases have been limited to mixtapes.
Remaining the president of Dream Chasers, on the partnership with Roc Nation, Meek is still holding leadership and ownership of his Dream Chaser company while overseeing the label activities including building a team of staff to sign and develop artists. The label has the full fledged operational freedom to handle its own creative strategy, marketing and business affairs. Meek also plans to open a recording studio for use by the label’s artists for ease of production.

JAY Z SAYS MEEK MILL IS FULL IN CHARGE
Jay Z cleared the air with this: “Everything he has done leading up to this point shows he is ready to [lead] the next generation. We look at the big picture — this is way beyond signing artists and having hot records.” This is to put off the doubts and question of acquisition methods often applied by bigger companies to swallow up smaller entities with whom the has this kind of merger.
Meanwhile, a clearly delighted Meek Mill indicated that: “I think it’s time for me to dive into the business. I’m 32 years old, I’m in a nice spot in the music business and I can help artists.”
